Norfolk Public Schools system is located in northeast Nebraska and serves over 4,000 students PreK-12. In 2011-2012 they were recognized as 1 of 49 Apple Distinguished Programs in the nation for their use of iOS devices with over 400 identified special needs students. The program has been a catalyst for district wide use of iOS devices and offers advice and leadership throughout the state of Nebraska.
"One of the program's current projects is to identify and align educational apps to standards and MAP assessment (by NWEA) goal strands. iHomeEducator apps can be found throughout their recommended lists because of their sound educational value throughout the curriculum and across grade levels, along with the attention paid to provide apps that are Universally Designed for all Learners (UDL)."
